Spicy Vegetable Noodles
Mi Goreng Dengan Sayuran dan Cabe

This dish can be found everywhere in Indonesia - from street stalls to glamorous hotel buffets.

Serves 4


  • 300g fresh or dried noodles (Simply follow the cooking instructions on the noodle packaging)

  • 5 shallots thinly sliced

  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 2 red chillies, thinly sliced

  • A handful of pak coy

  • 2 spring onions, thinly slices

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1-2 tbsp water

  • Salt and black pepper

  1. Heat the oil in a frying pan, add the garlic and chillies, sauté for 2 minutes.

  2. Add the spring onions and pak coy, then immediately add the nodles and mix well.

  3. Add the soy sauce. Cook for 5-7 minutes over a medium heat, making sure to stir the mixture
    frequently. If you find the mixture too dry, add 1-2 tbsp of water.


  4. Season with salt and black pepper and serve.
