The 2019 Ubud Food Festival went by so fast. At the end of April about 15,000 attended this weekend of delicious fun featuring guest chefs, local restaurants and Indonesian artisanal produce plus a range of Asian foods and international experts. Packed full of workshops, demonstrations, talks and more, UFF is a great way to literally spice up any visit or holiday trip to Bali's famous cultural and artistic centre.
At the Capella Resort I teamed up with its Culinary Director, Matt McCool and Judy Joo, chef and proprietor of JinJu, the premier modern Korean street food restaurant in London. We had fun with a unique 'omikase' (literally 'up to you') barbeque dinner for guests and visitors.
Modernising sambal - Indonesia's famous relish - was my theme on the Indus kitchen stage at the Festival.
